Agenda Show- Las Vegas

Published

on

With over 10,000 buyers and 250 + exhibitors Agenda provides a great stand point for fashion market week in Las Vegas. The team has been attending the Agenda show for a few years now, from a buyer as well as exhibitor perspective. This year we stopped by just to give you some of our favorites exhibiting this year.

Top 5 That Caught My Eye

Karl Kani-  http://karlkani.com/

Now we all praise our late music artist Aaliyah, 2Pac and Biggie but have we ever really focused on brands they have worn in the past? Kan you name one other than Coogi or Tommy Hilfiger? I Kan and that’s Karl Kani. Established in 1989 the line represents the pop/urban culture in a trendy rebellious way. Once I arrived at the booth I recognized the name but not the history behind the brand. Historical hip hop artist wore this line and many artists we follow on a day to day continue to do so. What I admired most about the pieces was the detail in trim and handmade fabrics. The signature gold plated logo on the sweat pants make a subtle yet bold statement. My favorite item included a sweat outfit appearing as suede but yet was made of light cotton washed material great for any season. Other male pieces included the trendy long tees with the fashionable zippers on the side. Karl Kani also presented me with women athletic wear with the popular thick elastic band in red/black and blue/black. The cropped hoodie made a bold statement a piece I would most defiantly wear. My description does no justice to the line be sure to check out the site!

Ethika  – https://ethika.com/

My first time seeing Ethika was on music artist Meek Mill and Taylor Gang's Chevy Woods. The style, wide elastic waist band and cotton bottoms were made popular by them before the Calvin and Tommy Hilfiger brand come back. What surprised me the most was the women’s line, oh and children’s. Now having had worn them and the variety of prints they offer I must admit I’m a fan, not just viewing them on males counter parts but now sleeping in them myself. Great product for anyone seeking comfort and style.

Cupcake Mafia – http://www.shopcupcakemafia.com/

Today’s generation, (focusing on the females) have leaned upon a more toward the sporty boyish trend. Personally I purchase men designer shirts/tees and wear them as dresses not to mention the love of comfort I have for male joggers. As assumed cupcake mafia is for the ladies, it provides the boyish trend but in a more sophisticated feminine way. With the heavy use of the color hot pink (don’t worry they have neutral items as well) and the tailored fit for a female this line is one to be noticed. The items I most liked included a bold blue, black and pink camouflage print bomber jacket and also sequined jersey dress/tee. Don’t get me wrong the focus is not at all a masculine one they vow to “ pink, sparkle and all things prissy“. Just make sure you stay tuned for the Fall look book, ladies you won’t be disappointed I sent you to the bakery.

Also peep the lines logo, somewhat a rendition of the female Kanye West Dropout Bear which caught my attention first and foremost.

Rastaclat- http://rastaclat.com/

My favorite asseccory of the show has to go to Rastaclat. Braclets made out of shoelaces with an adjustable bead with a lion logo in place. Simple and sweet. The line has collaborated with big brands such as Mountain Dew & NCAA for exclusive pieces. With variety of collections, colors, styles and braid types this assesory is a must have. #ClatLife

OddSox http://oddsoxofficial.com/

One of the most unique booth set ups goes to Odd Soxs. With the uniqueness yet relatable inspirations for their display, they were able to make a full blown out mini Wal-Mart shopping center. Everyday good and goodies you’d purchase was represented by Sox. Cheetos, Newport’s, Frosted Flakes and more were available in real life form as well as the Sox rendition. My favorite by far had to be the complex issues, presented on a newsstand. Oh and let’s not forget the free “The Claw” machine giving you a chance to win your very own pair of SOX's.

Along with the busy floor this year you had your occasional celebrity sightings. Souljah Boy (with Blvd brand) Pusha T, Jim Jones, Ben Baller, Lil Scrappy and Yo Gotti (with HoodAmerica clothing) were present as well. Along with the music artist I ran into two sets of twins making a statement in the fashion industry.  Jas & Ness and my personal favorite, the Minnapolis duo I've known before the blow up, Coco & Breezy

Twice a year this show happens and well if you’re affiliated with fashion and looking for a reason to be in Vegas, this most definitely is one. Next show, February 15th-17th register here!

Off-White Is Now The Most Popular Brand In The World

Published

on

Virgil Abloh's luxury Italian streetwear label Off-White has been named the “hottest fashion brand in the world”.

Over the past year, the brand has gone from strength-to-strength, thanks, in part, to highly-publicized collaborations with Ikea and Nike and Abloh’s appointment as artistic director of household name-brand Louis Vuitton.

Off-White topped a quarterly index compiled by Lyst, a global fashion search platform, by examining Google search data, sales, and social media mentions. Lyst singled out the company as the number one brand among fashion fans today, surpassing established names such as Gucci and Balenciaga.

Abloh's label is a big hit with global celebrities and has been worn by model Bella Hadid, and singers Rihanna and Beyoncé.

Motorola is in hot water: smartphone P30 bears a strong resemblance to Iphone X

Published

on

There is a new Android phone on the market – the Motorola P30, which would cost you roughly $350. People, however, might easily mistake it for a device that costs three times as much: the $1,000 Apple iPhone X, which was launched last fall.

Photos of the new smartphone were official released on Thursday, and not only do the phones share a lot of design details — a vertical camera, a “notch” on the front of the screen — the promotional images look pretty much the same.

Tech fans and enthusiasts did not waste time and immediately criticized the Levovo-owned phonemaker for copying Apple's design.
