According to TMZ, the rapper was shot in Miami as he was leaving a motorcycle dealership, with first responders claiming he had no pulse before authorities arrived on the scene.
Born Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, XXXTentacion rose from obscurity and poverty as a young Soundcloud rapper, becoming a commercial success with his 2017 debut album 17 and gaining a following on YouTube.
The rapper was awaiting trial for a number of felonies, including domestic violence charges, and was allowed out from house arrest following the release of his album so he could tour. No suspects have been named, nor have any been apprehended.
He was twenty years old. RIP
