NBA TV: The 84 Draft (Documentary) (Video)

Arguably the best draft class in any sport will forever go down as The 84 Draft. NBATV recently released a documentary focusing on the 30 year anniversary for the league’s most high profiled players ever to grace the hardwood floors. During the same year, our beloved former commissioner David Stern was serving in his first year in head office for the NBA. The draft would see four future Hall-of-Famers in the like of Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley and John Stockton; with 10 players in total scoring at least 10,000 career points.

We’re certain the Portland Trail Blazers are still kicking themselves in the ass for drafting Sam Bowie ahead of Michael Jordan. After his Royal Airness left the podium when being drafted by the Chicago Bulls, he revealed to many people in media that both Portland and Houston management would regret their decisions for the rest of their lives. Whether we’ll see another draft like this in our lifetime remains to be seen, but the NBA is already well into starting the hype train this year with Joel Embiid, ‎Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker.

Narrated by Steve Nash, continue below to watch the entire 70-minute documentary.
