Demarcus Cousins Signs Puma Offer Sheet

If you were living under a rock this past summer you may have missed Puma's resurgence as an athletic branding, lead by a basketball footwear comeback.  They got to work right away signing the top two picks of the 2018 NBA Draft this summer in DeAndre Ayton and Marvin Bagley III. Followed by the additions of veteran swingman Rudy Gay and WNBA star Skylar Diggins; immediately followed by many other signings.

Now, they are looking to beef up their already talented roster with the addition of the self-proclaimed third splash brother, DeMarcus Cousins.  Cousins, a 4-time All-Star, reportedly signed a multiyear multi-million dollar contract and Nike will have until October 14 to match the offer to retain his service.

If the deal goes through, it will be interesting to see which direction Puma plans on taking the brand moving forward considering their biggest stars may be big men.  Signatures shoes for big men has not been a hot commodity in the sneaker game for well over 20 years.

Let me know your thoughts, do you think there will be a demand for big men signature shoes moving forward?
