Nearly 20 years since its final episode, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is officially set to have a reboot. Will Smith is currently set to serve as executive producer through his own production company Overbook Entertainment and will have his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith alongside to help re-create the popular 1990s series.
At the moment, the show is in the preliminary stages of development, which will now obviously take place in the social media world we live in right now. While we don’t expect the same magic to be captured from the original cult- phenomenon, the Smith family is looking to retain its original spirit of the series for long-time fans and give newer fans a glimpse into the magic they missed.
The show originally aired on NBC Universal Networks, but luckily Warner Bros. Television were the creators of the series, which we can only hope for a Netflix or HULU arrival within the next few years. Look for more details to emerge in the next few months regarding this major announcement.
