Will and Jaden Smith are changing the world one step at a time. The father and son’s eco-friendly water company JUST will be making monthly donations to help with Flint’s water crisis.
JUST is relatively new, it was founded in 2015. The company’s bottles are made 82 percent plant-based, which makes them a great green alternative to plastic bottles.
As a reminder, the Flint water crisis has been ongoing since April 2014 and the people of Flint, MI haven’t had clean and safe running water in homes and schools in almost 4 years.
JUST Water CEO Ira Laufer told MLive that the donation was a “no-brainer.” “This just makes sense for us to do,” Laufer said. “Jada Smith has visited Flint and met with the mayor. Flint is very dear to her heart. … After reading more about [Flint’s] challenges and the mayor objecting to pulling bottled water from the schools, we thought ‘Let’s help these kids.’” Laufer [said] that the Smith family is “aware of the Flint donation and very excited.”
The company has already donated over 9,000 bottles to Flint’s residents and vows to continue the mission until lead levels are down.
