Meet Trev Rich, the rapper who just signed a contract with Cash Money Records and is about to put Denver on the hip hop map. In this slow beat, “Vapors” is one of those tracks that feels like a slow burn, full of heartache for the one who got away and malice for their leaving.
With lyrics like “We should tie our souls in a knot/ we should stomp holes in the earth until there's holes in our socks” Rich feels like putting heartache into a verse is one of the more challenging things he's done.
“Those songs are my favorites,” he said. “That's where I excel. The up-tempo tracks are easy to me, because I've done that for so long. When I have a beat that's down tempo, I really gotta zone in to make it my best and leave it on the page.”
