Even with the second best back-court in the NBA, the Portland Trail Blazers are severely struggling in the horrific Western Conference. The team has officially decided to call it quits on their 2017 campaign, trading away starting center Mason Plumlee to the Denver Nuggets.
In exchange, they get Jusuf Nurkic and most importantly – a 2017 first-round draft pick from the mile-high club. This move now gives Portland an eye-raising three first-round draft picks for this year’s draft, as they could be looking to do make more moves before next Thursday’s trade deadline.
With Plumlee having a career-year, on 11-and-8 a night, he’ll be looking to get a likely near-max deal in the off-season, something which the Blazers have luckily avoid. Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum are obviously staying, but the entire rip city squad could see a blow-up by next week.
