Another year for Tempe, Arizona mainstay Summer Ends Music Festival. Taking place September 24 – 27 at Tempe Beach Park, rap fans have much enjoy during the four day event.

J. Cole and Kanye West headline their respective nights which should serve as the festival’s biggest rap acts thus far. It’s been a phenomenal several months for Cole since dropping his 2014 opus 2014 Forest Hill Drive. Besides having an extremely successful Dollar and A Dream tour, he serves as the only rap artists managing to go platinum without feature guest verses. Between Cole and Kendrick Lamar, there seems to be a socially conscious major label class building. Thankfully, music fans are starting to take notice.

Hip Hop has been keeping a watchful eye on Mr. West since dropping the Paul McCarthy assisted Only One” late last year. Since then, the iconic rapper/producer has dropped a few singles for his Yeezus follow-up Swish (formerly called So Help Me God) in the form of “Wolves” featuring Sia and Vic Mensa along with “All Day.” Originally slated to drop in May, West has yet to mention the status of his upcoming seventh studio album.

Yeezy and Jermaine aren’t the only artists representing Hip Hop dring Summer Ends FestG.O.O.D. Music’s new golden child Big Sean is hitting the stage following the success of his third full length studio effort Dark Sky Paradise. Also representing the house that Kanye West built is Travis Scott who should deliver his signature animalistic performance. Chicago favorites Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa are slated to perform during the weekend. G-Eazy, the rap game James Dean, is continuing to build on his rabid fanbase when he hits the Summer Ends stage. Experimental Hip Hop/ Electronica DJ and producer Kaytranada should serve as an interesting alternative to typical EDM sets. This year alone, the Haitian-Canadian has produced more than his fair share of bangers including The Internet’s “Girl,” “My Dope House” by Freddie GibbsVic Mensa’s “Drive Me Crazy” and Kali Uchis’ “Rush.”
