With NBA All-Star Weekend around the corner, details of some of the festivities are starting to trickle out and one of the biggest is the 2018 Verizon Slam Dunk Contest.
According to Yahoo Sports, Aaron Gordon, Victor Oladipo and Dennis Smith Jr. have committed for the event, with a fourth person yet to be announced. It appears like Larry Nance Jr. will be a strong candidate for the spot.
Gordon has put on high flying dunks in the past, most notably his duel with Zach LaVine in 2016 where the two gave folks one of the best dunk contests of all time. It is Gordon’s third appearance in the competition. He has one thing in common with Oladipo, who also lost to LaVine in the event, back in 2015.
