After Dr. Dre held out for YEARS, partnered up with Lovine, got a couple hundred million out of it in Apple's acquisition of Beats, he is now releasing an album! The upcoming NWA film inspired Dre to record a new album properly titled, “Compton: A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre“.
In the midst of breaking the internet, he also opened on why the world never got his DETOX LP. He simply said, the album wasn’t where he wanted it to be in comparison to previous efforts and essentially didn’t want to disappoint fans with anything mediocre. Although we’re never likely to get a full-length solo project from Dre, this COMPTON release will be the closest thing to the album we never got last decade.
