Usually, when someone who I went to school with tells me that they recently started rapping or singing and want me to check out their music, I am reluctant to listen to it. But, that was not the case here. A friend of mine, illyEl Bicsby (1/2 of Day Won), sent me Day Won's debut project Gravity and I had no problem checking it out because I knew what illyEl Bicsby is capable of when it comes to the vocals and I was curious to see what the group Day Won had in store. Day Won is a California-based Hip-Hop/R&B group paired together by Chay & illyEl Bicsby, upon the conclusion of listening to their debut project I had taken away three major things it had substance, it had soul, and the rapper/singer tandem compliment eachother very well. Day Won released a 48 minute HipHop compilation that tackles the streets in a new way. Gravity takes you thru Day Won’s journey entering the music industry, while giving a soulful twist to Hip Hop. The Mixtape explains, why they do what they do giving a look into their minds'. Mistakes and all. The irony of Gravity leaves a reflection of releasing egotistical views, chasing spirituality, and promoting good vibes while trying to maintain during daily challenges
