Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith Stanfield are in talks to star in Jesus Was My Homeboy – a film inspired by Black Panther party member Fred Hampton, Deadline reported.
Ryan Coogler (Black Panther) and Charles D. King's MACRO will produce, Shaka King (Newlyweds) will direct.
Kaluuya will star as activist Hampton and Stanfield will play William O’Neal, the man who betrayed Hampton to the FBI. Jesus Was My Homeboy will follow the rise and ultimate demise of Hampton as seen through O’Neal’s eyes. It will explore how the FBI infiltrated the Black Panthers, the psychology of their informant and the notorious assassination of the young political leader who died aged only 21.
