ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Charlotte Hornets have made two-time All-Star Kemba Walker available in trade discussions.
Charlotte has been encouraging teams to make offers and appears eager to discuss attaching Walker to a larger trade in which another team would take on one of the Hornets' several far-less-desirable contracts, sources said.
Kemba Walker, who is statistically having one of his greater seasons halfway through the '17-'18 season, is set to make $12 million through next season. This news comes as a shock to many as most would figure Walker as the face of the franchise. Drafted in 2011, Walker has spent his entire career with the franchise and is coming off of his best season yet.
It has been reported that Charlotte is hoping that including Walker in trade talks would hopefully bring in a good young player or a first-round draft pick. In other words, in efforts to hit 'reset' on the franchise they are looking to tank.
Along with Kemba, the Hornets have also made Dwight Howard, Nicolaus Batum, Marvin Williams and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist available. However, unlike Kemba Walker the contracts of those four players are very unnactractive.
