During the 1990s when attention was on Death Row Records and the East Coast, Atlanta was quietly laying down their foundation for a global takeover of southern American music we witnessed throughout the 2000s to present. VH1’s Roc Docs recently released their latest documentary, ATL: The Untold Story of Atlanta’s Rise in the Rap Game. The Ludacris-produced documentary investigates how the city came to reign and be at the forefront of hip-hop.
With appearances from, T.I., Usher, Lil Jon, Jermaine Dupri and Future among others, the cities historic story of segregation is also detailed, which happened to be similar to their presence initially in the rap game.
